The Carvin HD1500 is used for two reasons. It is used as a backup power amp and other times as a way to power my monitor to hear myself on tour.

The G90's a dead body. I've been taking 2 Shure GLXD6's on tour with me. The empty rackspace would drive me nuts.

The Boogie is the nucleus and core for my tone.

I am using the Fractal Axe FX unit solely as an effects processor via 4 cable method through the JP2C+ Mesa Boogie. This allows me to place any effect before or after different amp stages. My overdrives comes before the pre-amp, whereas my delays, EQ's and reverbs come after. The effects that I use include Overdrive, EQ, Multi-Delay and Reverb via the Fractal Axe FX XL+

For songwriting and pre-production, I use Logic Pro X. This allows me to record ideas on the fly, drag and drop sections in different places and add all sorts of textural elements.

Using 4 cable method, I record any and all lead guitars as follows :

AXE FX > JP2C+ > Scarlett 6i6 via built-in CabClone DI

Rhythm Guitars are approached differently. I like to mic my 4x12 cab with a combination of mics such as the SM57 or Shure KSM 313.

I do not mix or master my releases. All lead and bass guitars are tracked in my home studio while rhythm guitar and drums are almost always tracked live in studios with the exception of "The Speed of Dark: Revisited," which was all tracked in my home studio.
